Made Especially for You.

After the Lil' Cupcakes birthday we had an influx of orders. I was extremely surprised by one in particular. My toughest critic, my cousin. Extremely picky and brutally honest with me, which I am glad of as it makes me a better baker.

She ordered a dozen Red Velvet cupcakes. What surprised me even more is that fact that there is cupcake store, literally a 5 minute walk from her office and she opted to order from Toot Sweet Cupcakes. I felt very honoured.

I have to admit, this is my fifth red velvet recipe. The first four were not good. Well they were fine, but I was looking for the ultimate, best tasting red velvet cupcake recipe. And after much R&D, I found the ultimate and best tasting red velvet cupcake recipe.

Don't forget, Toot Sweet Cupcakes, makes fresh to order, never frozen and never dry cupcakes. You contact us and we make them especially for you.

Happy First Birthday G!

Over the last year, while on Mat leave, I've met some really great people. I joined a network of moms called Momstown. I've enjoyed the events and getting to meet other moms who were in the same place as I was with the Lil' Cupcake.

Quiet a few of my new "mom" friends little ones are all turning one and I was delighted that L had asked me to provide a cake and cupcakes for G's first birthday.

So happy first birthday G! Also known as Cupcake's boyfriend.

For his birthday we created vanilla cupcakes with green and yellow frosting, for his smash cake we made a vanilla cake with strawberry preserve and fresh strawberries. Yummy. He even thought so when he destroyed his cake. Haha. Loved seeing the photos of him destroying it.

We also created a little lion for the top of his cake because he loves lions. Happy Birthday again G. I can't wait to see what you do next.

G's mom took advantage of Toot Sweet Cupcakes 1st birthday special. Contact us today, so your little one can have fun smashing a birthday cake.

Toot Sweet Cupcakes also creates simple 6 inch cake smash cakes for one year photos. If your interested in having 1 year photos done contact us today and we can create a special cake for the photos.

Back to work

Maternity leave is over and it is back to work. Where did a year go?

There was no slow transiton back in to the workforce me, my colleagues were happy to see me and followed up with, Friday is your snack day. "Hi guys, missed you too."

Every Friday, our team gets together for a meeting to discuss the days events and eat a Friday treat. Someone different is responsible for bringing in a snack and they are always delgihtfully delicious. Some bring in scones, pancakes, waffles, muffins, breakfast casseroles, frittatta's etc. No one breakfast snack is the same, well with the exception of fruit. We always seem to bring in fruit. I guess it is to compensate for the caloric content of main snack. Name a breakfast item that isn't high in content. I dare you.

So for my first snack duty, I had to treat my co-workers to some of Toot Sweet Cupcakes creations. So we created a delicious Stuffed French Toast Cupcake.

STUFFED FRENCH TOAST CUPCAKE?????????? What?????

Yes, Stuffed. French Toast. Cupcake. We started out with a french toast cake base, yummy, so delicious on it's own. Actually tasted like french toast. Yum. Then we stuffed it with Strawberry preserve AND fresh strawberries. Then we topped it all off with a swirl of the delightful brown sugar cream cheese frosting. YUM!

Mr. Toot Sweet Cupcakes, says I am a French Toast snob. I love French Toast, it is my favorite breakfast food. But if my french toast is soggy, I turn up my nose, but this french toast was moist, not soggy. My co-workers enjoyed it, a few of them may have had seconds and other floors and staff were pretty upset that they were privy to the French Toast Cupcake. Next time guys.

Now to perfect the ultimate Bacon Cupcake????????? Maybe???? Hmmm??? I'm off to the lab/kitchen for some R&D.
