Inspired by tastes

The past couple of days I've been watching cooking shows, and I have come up with some awesome flavours that I am dying to try, but now to find the guinea pig, uhhh, I mean taste testers to try them out and be the critics.

My number on idea. Champagne and strawberries. A champagne sponge cake with strawberry buttercream and chocolate dipped strawberry garnish. Mouth watering. I can even see them.

My other idea, Chai Latte. I love Starbucks, anyone who knows me, knows I love Starbucks. The little cupcake, my daughter, even loves Starbucks. ha. So what better cupcake to make then my favorite drink, Chai Latte. A Chai Spiced cake with a whipped vanilla buttercream. Not your normal buttercream, a fluffy, creamy, dreamy buttercream.

Contact us today and put your order in. Cupcakes are no longer just for celebration. They are for everyday.

Good friend baby shower

I created this cake for my good friend's baby shower. We did not know the gender of the baby, so the cake was a green blanket with a bear sitting on top. Such a cute little bear made from gumpaste and fondant.

A few weeks later when I was visiting, I noticed the sweet little bear has taken up house in the fridge. Haha. I can't wait for this little one's first birthday, I think a Teddy Bear Picnic may be the theme. I would love to make a bunch of Teddy Bear's and what not for a 1st birthday cake.

One weekend in February

Woo, what a busy weekend February 11 - 13th was. I had to create a baby shower cake and 1st birthday cake. Here are the creations:

Baby girl shower cake. This cake was a yummy red velvet cake. Red velvet seems to be very popular. My client tells me that the guest of honour loved the cake and actually cried when she saw the cake. *Tear* I love hearing stories like that - I am sure that hormones, may have had something to do with it as well. So, here is her baby shower cake.

The 1st Birthday cake, for a family friends little guy. I grew up with A's mom and I was so happy and honoured to make his first birthday cake for his Mickey Mouse birthday. For A, I made a completely vegan chocolate 1st birthday cake. No eggs, dairy, animal by-products of any kind, it was an allergy free cake. And it was so YUMMY and Moist.

The Mickey Mouse hat with ears was made from Fondant and Gumpaste, with A's name written on just like they do in Disneyland, and World.

The cupcakes behind are a moist chocolate cake with buttercream icing. These were not vegan, but still yummy.

Baby boy belly cake

Last May, a good friend of mine was expecting a baby boy, six weeks before I was. Little did we know that our dear daughter would join us 10 days after my dear friend would have her little boy.

Here is her baby shower cake I made for her.

Cakes from the past

Here are some cakes that I have created in the past:
Buttercream roses:

Garden Cake, this cake was made with royal icing flowers, and buttercream icing. The icing was piped on with a rope border and a lattice around the cake:

Fondant Tiffany's present:

Thanksgiving Cake with fondant covered and fondant and gumpaste pumpkins.
